๐Ÿ’‰ Ketamine Infusion Therapy

Safety, efficacy, and what to expect during infusions

Yes โ€” when administered by a qualified physician in a clinical setting, ketamine has an excellent safety profile. It has been used as an FDA-approved anesthetic for over 50 years. At Soluz Health, every infusion is supervised by Dr. Oscar Martinez, MD, FACEP, a board-certified physician, and your vitals are monitored throughout every session.
Most patients describe a mild dissociative experience โ€” a feeling of floating, dreamlike visuals, or a sense of detachment from their surroundings. Many describe it as peaceful or even spiritual. The experience typically lasts 45โ€“60 minutes. Our staff is present with you throughout, and we do everything we can to make the environment calm and comfortable.
Most patients complete an initial series of 4โ€“6 infusions over 2โ€“3 weeks. After the series, we assess your results and discuss maintenance options. Some patients maintain their relief with periodic boosters (every few weeks to months), while others experience long-lasting relief without further infusions. Everyone responds differently.
Yes โ€” you'll need a driver for ketamine infusion appointments. The dissociative effects of ketamine make it unsafe to drive for the remainder of the day after a session. Please arrange a ride in advance. You're welcome to use a rideshare service as long as someone can accompany you home.
In most cases, yes โ€” but we review all current medications during your intake process. Certain medications (particularly benzodiazepines and some mood stabilizers) can affect ketamine's efficacy. We'll work with you and your prescribing physician to determine the safest approach for your specific situation.
Many patients notice improvement after just one or two infusions โ€” sometimes within hours to days. This rapid onset is one of ketamine's most significant advantages over traditional antidepressants, which typically take 4โ€“8 weeks. Response rates are highest for depression, PTSD, and anxiety. Individual results vary.

๐Ÿงฒ TMS Treatment

Non-invasive brain stimulation โ€” your questions answered

Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) is a non-invasive procedure that uses magnetic pulses to stimulate nerve cells in the brain. It is FDA-cleared for the treatment of major depressive disorder (MDD) in adults who have not responded adequately to antidepressant medication. TMS is also used off-label for anxiety, OCD, and other conditions.
TMS is well-tolerated by most patients. The most common side effect is mild scalp discomfort or a headache during or after the session, which typically diminishes after the first few treatments. Unlike antidepressants, TMS does not cause weight gain, sexual dysfunction, or systemic side effects. Serious side effects are rare.
Yes โ€” unlike ketamine, TMS has no sedative effects. You can drive yourself to and from every session and return immediately to normal activities, including work, right after your appointment.
A standard TMS course consists of 36 sessions administered Monday through Friday over approximately 6โ€“9 weeks. Each individual session lasts about 20โ€“40 minutes. Consistency is important for achieving the best results, so we'll work with your schedule to make attendance as convenient as possible.
TMS is not appropriate for patients who have metal implants in or near their head (such as cochlear implants, metal plates, or certain types of aneurysm clips), or for patients with a history of seizures or epilepsy. Patients with pacemakers should also discuss TMS with their cardiologist first. During your consultation, we'll review your complete medical history to confirm candidacy.

๐Ÿ’ณ Cost & Insurance

Understanding your financial options

Currently, most insurance plans do not cover ketamine infusions for psychiatric conditions. Ketamine is FDA-approved as an anesthetic, and its psychiatric use is considered off-label. We can provide a superbill that you may submit to your insurer for potential out-of-network reimbursement. We also work with financing partners to help make treatment accessible. Please call us to discuss specific pricing.
TMS is often covered by insurance for qualifying patients with major depressive disorder who have tried and not responded to at least one antidepressant. Coverage varies by plan. We're happy to help you verify your benefits before you commit to treatment โ€” just call us or ask during your consultation.
Yes. We understand that the cost of treatment can be a barrier, and we don't want finances to stand between you and care that could change your life. Please call our office at (210) 960-6998 to discuss available financing and payment plan options.
